OSKY are proud to have been Silver Sponsors of the Australian Council for International Development (ACFID) Conference held last week.
This year the ACFID theme was “Beyond Aid – Championing Sustainable Development Cooperation” and was held at the roundhouse at UNSW.
The conference was bound to focus on creative engagement and practical strategies to keep up with change. The two-day event did not disappoint our expectations, with so many resolutions passing for the betterment of all. From climate change ambitions to a disability-for-all decision, a civil society resolution and support for the Saharawi people in their fight for self-determination and independence, to name a few highlights.
With so many fantastic organisations, no wonder it was difficult to choose a winner of the ACFID/OSKY Digital Grant. The submissions were all exceptional, and of high quality, with each organisation wanting to raise awareness for their worthy cause.
We congratulate all organisations on the tremendous work they do to make a difference to the world in which we all live.
Unfortunately, there could only be two winners. Congratulations go to both Quaker Service Australia (QSA) and Union Aid Abroad – APHEDA for their winning entries.
Union Aid Abroad-APHEDA was established in 1984 by the Australian Council of Trade Unions as the global justice organisation of the Australian union movement. Through Union Aid Abroad, unions and union members contribute directly to countries and regions of the world where men and women workers face poverty or civil conflict or lack of equality, justice or human rights.
QSA work with local, community-based partners in Cambodia, India, Uganda, Zimbabwe and Indigenous Australia, in small-scale agriculture to achieve food and water security. Quaker packs a powerful punch in helping rural communities realise change and sustainable livelihoods for themselves.
OSKY are looking forward to working with both of these organisations to ensure their cause and awareness will intensify by digitally transporting them to their ideal target market.
